Why is it...

... that when I'm home sick I suddenly acquire a pet?

I recall the time I had the flu and I heard a rustling coming from my fireplace. The rustle eventually became louder and louder and resulted in a bird flitting and fluttering in the base of the fireplace. I spent hours trying to get that bird out of my apartment. One does not need to be chasing after a bird when one is ill.

Then there was the time I was home with some other sort of ailment and I noticed a dark shadow by my feet. When I locked my eyes onto it the realization that it was a mouse sent me fleeing from my chair.

The same thing happened yesterday.

If I wanted a pet I'd get a dog. If I wanted to keep the rodentia away, I'd be better off with a cat. *sigh* I want my uninvited guest that is busy hiding somewhere around here GONE.

Heh-heh, Cindy, you're the intruder here, not them. They were just coming out to play as they always do and were surprised to find you home during the week. I know what they're thinking: "Bummer, we were supposed to have lunch in the upper cabinet today."

LOL! What is this, IHOP? I was so happy when it made a return visit and discovered the super-seekret poison packet of faux food that's tucked under the fridge... not that I prefer killing them varmints, but the alternative is a glue trap and, well, I really don't want to experience THAT.
