Beginning a New Year with Tradition
Now make sure y'all clap along to the music!
Strauss - Radetsky March
I was the blue-haired lady in the first row. *wink wink* Also, if you haven't been playing along all these years, this particular piece is my FAVORITE from the Vienna Philharmonic's annual New Year's Day Concert in (duh) Vienna, Austria. This one was from last year... hopefully I can update it to the 2008 version if and when it becomes available online.
p.s. Wishing you nothing but the very best for this New Year --good health, happiness and prosperity!
Cindy

One up on you here, we watched the concert live from Vienna on German TV! And the Radetsky March was extremely well performed. The conductor was an 83 year old whose style was amazing, and his control fabulous even though this is the first time he has conducted this concert, and he did so without a score, having memorised every piece.

Thanks Zoe!
Pat - Oh! I neglected to mention that I watched it live from Vienna on US TV. It's my New Year's Day tradition; one day I'll get to that concert IN PERSON!
