MacBook Pro Super Drive Update Question

Each time I restart or boot my MacBook Pro I get this message regarding a SuperDrive update. This began after a previous SuperDrive update (2.1) on July 5.

SDupdate

How do I get rid of this so it doesn't come up each time I restart or boot up? Is it simply a matter of deleting it from the Utilities folder, or ... ?

Cindy

Went there, looked, SD Update was NOT checked. (as per my email.) Dangnabbit.

Pheerce was close. The tick box hides the application; it doesn't stop it from starting up.

What you want to do it select it in the Login Items pane, and hit the minus button below the list to remove it. As long as you've successfully flashed the drive, this will do the trick.

Greg - did it. Hopefully I 'flashed the drive' (whatever THAT means) so we'll see what happens. Thanks for your help!!!

p.s. you too, 'Pheerce' -- LOL.

Excellent - good to hear it worked.

Updating the firmware (software stored on a ROM/PROM/EPROM chip rather than disk) on a device is known as "flashing" - the fact that you received the "no devices were found that require this firmware update" means either it was successfully updated on a previous reboot or you have a different hardware revision than what the firmware update was meant for.

Either way, I think you'll be fine :)
