Congrats to Zoe!
Congrats to Zoe at My Boyfriend is a Twat on her latest achievement, Best Humor Weblog, bestowed upon her by The AFOE European Weblog Awards 2006 [note: scroll to the bottom of that page to see this particular award, but she came in second and third in other categories also, so you might want to read them all.]
In other Zoe awards news, she's been crowned the winner of the "Write the Copy" contest. Since Zoe already has some jewels from moi, she can select a photograph from my Photo Gallery and will receive a print of it (if I'm inspired, I may even mat and frame it, but don't count on inspiration anytime soon.)
Thanks to all of you who participated and voted, in particular to Mike Macgirvin, who (finally!) voted and broke the tie. YAY Mike!
Cindy

Erm...
*gets ready to be pelted with tomatoes*
Am I the only person who thinks these 'awards' thingies are all a pile of wank?
It's like Oscar ceremonies and the seemingly endless others run by the 'let's pat each other on the back and prove how wonderful we all are' brigade - the are really irritating.
Mostly, it's the same people over and over again, in multiple categories, voted for by the same people (usually hundreds friends and everyone who's included on their blogrolls - I mean, some blogrolls have 200 entries on them and I feel for some it's like a 'look how long my blogroll is/look who I know' competition).
Then again, thats not to say that there ain't some EXCELLENT bloggers out there (MBIAT is indeed one of the very good ones), but it's turning into a farce. Bloggers are slowly turning into 'professional' bloggers, the commenters are turning into 'professional' commenters and it's all becoming just a bit, well, sad.
I often wish bloggers would just blog for the sake of it, rather than blog for credit/esteem/applause/awards, which so many are now doing - just have a look at how many sites there are now for professional bloggers, advising on how to maximise readership, income, exposure etc. I've also come across increasing numbers lately that are requiring fee-paying subscription! For gawds sake.
It's all getting really annoying.

well, i do agree that there are far too many competitions these days - i do like the bloggies, though. i don't know who nominates me or votes for me and neither do i take blogging professionally.
hell can freeze over before that happens - it's a hobby. can't you tell by my atrocious speling and bad grammer ? ;)

Zoe - don't go changing, the beauty of your blog is that it is personal, and that is what us little cyber-people like about it!
P and T - I agree. I'll be writing up a post based on your comment RSN...
Zoe - you're welcome... and yes, please select ONE photograph and I'll print an 8x10 for you... and plop it in the mail to Belgium.
As far as the ring is concerned, pffft...

oh kat, i never used to get anything at school - it's time to catch up and better myself.
i'm trying, really, i am - and accept any input from others. not to win anything, but to better myself.
