And the wise man wrote...

Whenever anybody tells me what's really in their heart once they know and expresses any doubt as to what to do with it, I tell them to follow it. That's not always easy. There's no complacency in these words. It can be difficult to know your own heart and your intuitions and even harder to act on them. One of the greatest obstacles to being able to do that is "overthinking," cluttering our minds with hypotheses and switching on our analytical circuits where they can be of no use to us. Whether tomorrow it's bliss or the proverbial bus, it is up to two people to shape, alone together and together alone each in their own way and time.

I read this at 7am this morning (while still half asleep) and thought "either our fave New Yoiker is on drugs, or she's trying to confuse us".

Reading it again this afternoon I thought "Ooooh! That's profound. True, but profound"

P&T: Happy (I think) to report that moi is drug-free. Who needs drugs when I can easily hallucinate on a daily basis. :-) And no, I wasn't trying to confuse y'all.

Nicholas does have a way with words... I loved what he wrote.

I understand the daily hallucination thing only too well - Cute Wee Me does exactly the same thing and has nil requirement for chemical enhancement.

I sometimes try to escape through the medium of alcohol, which only serves to increase the phenomenon.
