It's "Ode to Ted" Day
I love Ted @ Rocket Jones. Yes I do. I can write that because I truly believe you can love another human being without it being mistaken for something of an intimate nature. I love Ted because:
... he's a huge ice hockey fan
... he asked me to be on the Rocket Jones cheerleading squad
... he's the type of husband every female would want to have. He is utterly and completely in love and devoted to his wife, and when he writes about her, his love for her is truly evident and shines through.
... he can whip up a delectably delicious cinnamon loaf and mail it to me so I can become porky pig
It's really a shame we can't clone him. A Ted in every household. A Ted who's a terrific dad and husband and a dear friend. A Ted who treats
strangers like family. When it comes to Ted, you know instinctively that if you ran into him on the street or met up with him in a pub that he'd have a huge, warm and welcoming smile on his face. That's what I sense even though we've never met face-to-face. Yup. Today is "Ode to Ted" day.
Today I profess all of this mushyness and admiration because he managed to surprise me yet again. Here's why. [Ted: yes, the show is indeed juvenile at times, but hey, sometimes it's way too much work to be an adult, and I'm really happy that we made you laugh. This is only the beginning of my shoutouts to you.] :-)
Thank you Ted. I can't express properly how much I appreciated what you wrote this morning. You're the best.

I don't know who Ted is but are you really Squipper from the early Web daze in NYC? I was tracking links to my Mediagirl blog and found you and thought "now who the heck is this?" And then saw a few clues that led me to believe that, yes indeed, I knew you then or when or whatever it was. How are you? (you can email me offline, of course!)

I get to be cool by virtual association.

Blue - You're already cool!
Welcome Aliza! As I mentioned in my email to you, I've followed your blog for quite a while now, and it's so great that you stopped by here. Yes indeedy, we knew each other back in '95 when you first began Webgrrls and we met at the now-defunct @ Cafe on St. Mark's Place. It seems so long ago, doesn't it. :-)
Ted - I didn't write anything that wasn't true.
