Poor little old unwanted mobly's...

We have a service over here in Blighty where you can 'donate' your old mobly via some little post-free bags at the supermarkets.

As a 'reward' the supermarket gives you 'points' (worth about 5 pounds/10 dollars approx) to spend in the supermarket. Little old unwanted mobly then goes on a journey across the world to some far off land, to get adopted by someone poor and needy.

The resale value of old mobly's is hardly worth the effort and time, so it's a nicer way to say goodbye to old faithful and get some free shopping in return.

P&T: Sounds like a more convenient deal, though the cell-for-cash program offers (I think) up to $30 US depending on the unwanted/outdated 'mobly' :-)

San Jose has a donation program of cell phones for the battered and abused women's shelter .. they get setup with free emergency service .. just a drop off box though, not sure how you'd apply for a donation write off ...

I like the 'mobly donation' programs. At least you know something good is coming from your old friend.

As sdy mentioned, I think the phones for the abused womens shelter is an excellent idea.

By the way, that link worked for me the other day, but like everyone else says, it no longer does for some reason.
