Women and Podcasting
How many times have you read an article that poses the question, "where are the women?" Though podcasting is still in its infancy, the number of podcasters, podcasts, groups, reviewers, press, etc. has grown exponentially since its introduction some months ago. Right now there are more male podcasters than there are female podcasters.
Amy Gahran, one of very few women in the podcasting world, has been keeping tabs on the number of women involved in podcasting. She's put together a list of them (yours truly included) that reflects a mere 25-30 female podcasters.
Amy recently posted her latest podcast where she talks about why more women should begin podcasting. I suggest you go have a listen. (It's 20 minutes and by the way, you can save it to your desktop and listen to it later if you don't have time now.)

Cindy, thanks so much for your support and attention. I really appreciate it -- and your excellent work in the newly emerging medium of podcasting :-)
BTW, I'd just like to mention to your readers that my list of female-created podcasts is a work in progress. I update it every time I find out about a new one.
To suggest a female-created (hosted or co-hosted) podcast for my list, just e-mail me at: editor@contentious.com. Include the name of the podcast, the name of the podcaster, site URL, feed URL, the language of the show, and a brief description of the kind of content.
Thanks!

Funny thing is that I only know one-podcaster and she is female. I had assumed that 100% of podcasters were female :-)
