Firefox 1.0

If you're using Internet Exploder, now is a great time to make the switch to Firefox. Version 1.0 has just been released and is available for Mac (OS X), Windows, Linux. Just go to Mozilla site for more information. Note: for those of you using Mac OS 9, the Mozilla browser version 1.2.1 is available for download here.

I'm a dumbass. What exactly is the difference between Mozilla and Firefox if Mozilla puts out Firefox?

I'm so confused...

Ummmm. They have different names.

Firefox is the cross-platform browser.

Mozilla is just the company. Older (non-current platforms) may not get firefox so they have to make do with the core Mozilla product without the bells and whistles.

Hope that helps...

Mozilla refers to a whole suite of applications - browser, mail, newsreader, etc. Firefox is the next generation of all this stuff and is just the browser part.

Please try my extension for Firefox called "LookAhead". I think you might find it useful.

The homepage for the extension is http://lookahead.mozdev.org

and you can find the XPI file needed for the extension at

http://downloads.mozdev.org/lookahead/lookahead_1.2.xpi

Let me know what you think, if you try it.
