First Day of Autumn

Evidently summer is over as of today and it's officially the first day of Autumn.

Not in my book it isn't. Past experience has shown that summer never really exits until the first snow falls. Summer temperatures have shown up in October and November 'round these parts, so putting away all the summer clothes -- t-shirts, shorts, sun dresses, flip-flops, sandals, bathing suits, etc. won't be done anytime soon. I always keep the summer apparel ready, just in case there's a hike in temperature or if I'm travelling to a warmer climate. (Either that or I'm simply avoiding the inevitable dreariness of clouds and minimal sunshine.)

I'm thinking it's going to snow any day now, but that's no reason to put the summer clothes away.

Myself, I like a good beach party in February -- we crank up the heat, put on our best Hawaiian shirts and mix up a batch of Margaritas. Sometimes I even leave the shower running for that steamy, jungle waterfall ambience.
