Wieners, Hot Dogs, Etc.

July is National Hot Dog month. I prefer mine grilled, with sauerkraut and mustard on a toasted bun. Here's a list of the top ten hotdog eating American cities (2003) and a recipe for baked beans to accompany your dogs.

I'm not so sure about baking my hot dogs in the same pan with my baked beans. It just seems... well, off.

I like mine grilled too, but no sauerkraut please and thank you. I love good ol' chili and cheese. My kids would rather have theirs boiled than grilled. I just don't get that. They always taste jucier and a little smoky when grilled.

Oddly enough we're having hot dogs tonight.

Hey, don't forget the onions and the mustard better be deli and not just yellow (and make sure you have some Altoids around for afterwards).

Now, there's nothing better than a) a Nathan's hot dog at Coney Island or b) a pound of frankfurters from the 2nd Ave. Deli (2nd and 10th Sts.) to take home and grill. : ^ )

That's what I forgot to have. I was going to have a hot-dog so that I could use the Croc Dundee line :-) I'll have to come back, just to have a hot dog :-)

Kat - yeah same here - I'd separate the beans from the dogs.
I'll never understand the boiled hot dog preference either.

Rob - Nathan's - yes!

Oz - among other places I forgot to take u to... damn.
